The Royal Wedding...

So.... The Royal Wedding. Who's excited?
I mean, congratulations to them. I'm happy they're happy.
I'm happy they love each other.
I'm happy they're getting married.
Hope they have a great life together.

However... there are numerous things that annoy me about this wedding.
One is the amount of coverage it's gotten.
Cool, they're getting married. Awesome.
I'll continue living life now.
I'm bemused as to how people can care so much about it... I mean, it's their lives.
How about we let them live it?

Probably the main thing that annoys me about it though... is the cost.
80 Million. 80 Million dollars. That's like, 50 times more than I'll earn in my life.
Is that cost really necessary for one single wedding?
It's great they love each other and stuff, but the money could be used so much more beneficially elsewhere.

What about the kids, starving and slaving away in Third World Countries?
What about those people who'll never ever get to live a comfortable life?
Those who don't know what a luxury is. Those who don't know what rest is.
What do they get?
This single 80 Million dollar wedding... the money could be used elsewhere.
It could end poverty in so many places. It could give decent lives to so many.
Those who can't eat regularly, if at all.
Those who are forced into the sex trade to live.
Those who are forced into slavery.
Those who are beaten, whipped, violated... the money could help those people so much.
And yet, it's spent on flowers, and a ridiculously overhyped, overrated one day event.
It makes me sick.

Sometimes, I do things because I feel like it...

This space has been fairly devoid for a while.
The last serious thing I wrote here was forever ago.
It's either because I don't feel like writing too much,
or I forget this exists,
or because when I do come here with the intention of writing, I become so damn lazy that I just give up.

It's one of the above.

That being said, I do like writing here.
It's actually a space where I can get stuff out there, and know I'm not going to get slammed for it.
That being said, I've started watching One Tree Hill.
Funny, I know :P

So yeah, to the multitudes of people out there reading this (there's going to be a max of like, 2, but who cares? :P) I've written something.
For once.
Either way... I just felt like writing tonight. It felt good.
I like writing.
It's fun.

I should write a story sometime...
Anyway, life is good.
Blah blah blah. I'm actually enjoying living in Frankston.
Minus two things.

One, the food sucks. I miss my dad's cooking so much.

Two, I miss the stars.
Back on my wonderful Island, the night sky was beautiful.
Amazing.
To be able to look up, and see the multitudes of lights up there, twinkling away.
I miss it.
Stupid light pollution. I had a look up the other day, and struggled to see any stars at all.
And yes, it was a clear night.
The night sky really is amazing....

The epic fight...

It was a Sunday night. I was sitting on my bed, talking to people on facebook, quietly minding my own business... when BAM!! It happened. A bee, flew down and attacked me. I was unprepared, but using my epic ninja skills, I managed to fight it off. It flew away, retreating to the light fitting on my roof.

Once it was there, I watched it, waiting on my bed with a pillow in my hand, ready to pounce if it attacked again. It came out, testing the waters to see if I would attack. However, it was too far away, and I couldn't reach it from where I was. I realised that I wasn't going to be able to retaliate from my position, so I had to do something. Looking around my room, I saw some nerf darts lying on the floor. I had an idea.

Grabbing my car keys, I made the epic dash out of my room, out of the house, down the stairs, to my car, where my trusty Nerf Gun lay. I grabbed it, then grabbed some darts, and returned to my room, where I scoped out the position of the bee. It had retreated back into the light fitting. So I took position, and waited for the bee to make it's fatal mistake.

I waited, crouched on the ground... after what seemed like hours, the bee finally came out of it's hiding spot. I opened fire, taking shot after shot until BANG! I hit it. It retreated back into it's light fitting, where it lay, motionless. I thought it was dead, so I calmed down, returning to my bed. However, I heard movement, and I looked up to see the bee move.

I tensed, grabbing my Nerf Gun and preparing for round two. However, it became motionless again. Time passed, and all of a sudden, it started going crazy. It was flying around the fitting, hitting everything, making heaps of noise. I waited, preparing for a retaliation on its part, until it stopped.
It lay in the fitting. Not moving. It looked like it was snapped in two. The bee, after intruding into my room, and attacking me, had been bested by my Nerf Gun, and my epic aim. It now rests in my light fitting, as a warning to all future bees of the dangers of attacking MickyJ in his own room.

The end.

You...

These days... you're all I seem to think about.
Every spare moment, every wandering thought.
It all comes back to thoughts of you.

It's weird. I've known you for ages.
We've been friends for a while.
But I actually got to know you better.
We spoke for ages.
And ages.
And now this has happened.

I like you. A lot.
Every chance I get, I speak to you.
I love speaking to you.
Just chatting. Either about nothing, or important stuff.
It's always enjoyable.
And I always have a smile on my face.

Because of this. Because of distance.
And because of just how awesome you are.
I've come to like you a lot.
I want to be able to tell you all this.
To see you again, as soon as I can.
And if something happens...
It'll be amazing.

I hope it does.
Probably more than anything in the world right now.
I just like you.
So much.
So very much...

The Pink Fairy 2 - The Darkness Returns

Once, there was a little Fairy.
It was pink, with pretty little wings.
It also glowed, and it glowed a light blue.

This fairy, once upon a time, brought light into a dark world.
It made trees and flowers grow.
It brought colour into a black world.
And it made people happy.

However, there was another Fairy in this world.
It didn't like the colour.
It didn't like the flowers.
It didn't like the happy people.

This Fairy was small. But it was slightly bigger than the Pink Fairy.
It was a muscular fairy, and it wore a black vest.
It also glowed, but it glowed a deep red.
And it was always surrounded with a dark cloud.
It was the Black Fairy

The Black Fairy didn't like the Pink Fairy.
In fact, it was the mortal enemy of the Pink Fairy.
It had worked hard to bring darkness to the world.
And the Pink Fairy destroyed his work.
He wanted revenge.

He approached the Pink Fairy one day.
He was angry. He was annoyed.
And he was big.
Like... BIG!
And it brought the darkness,
which the Pink Fairy worked so hard to destroy,
with it.

The Pink Fairy was a little bit scared.
It was pink, and it glowed, and had pretty wings.
It didn't have muscles. It didn't wear a black vest.
It was scared of the Black Fairy.
But it knew that it had to stand up for itself.

The Black Fairy wanted to fight the Pink Fairy.
But the Pink Fairy wouldn't fight back.
Instead of fighting with it, the Pink Fairy did the strangest thing.
It asked the Black Fairy if it wanted to be friends.

The Black Fairy was confused.
It didn't know what to do.
No one had ever wanted to be its friend before.
So, instead of fighting... the Black Fairy ran away.

And the darkness disappeared with the Black Fairy...

The Pink Fairy

Once upon a time, there was a little fairy.
It was pink, and had pretty little wings.
It also glowed, and it glowed a bright blue.

This little fairy was the only bright thing in a dark, dark world.
There was little light.
No one was happy.
And all the trees had no leaves.

The bright pink fairy decided one day, to make everything happy and colourful again.
So, one by one, it went around to all the people in the world.
It showed them colour.
Showed them light.
And made them happy again.
Until, one by one, it had gone around to all the people in the world.

Doing this made the fairy very happy.
It also started to bring colour and light into the world again.
No longer was the fairy the only thing that glowed in the world.
Trees started growing leaves.
The sun started to shine.
And people started smiling.

Over time, the world became a happy place again.
There was colour everywhere.
There was always life, and light.
It was a wonderful place to live.
And it was all because the little fairy showed others kindness.

The end... or is it?

The injustice of disassociation...

So... you know all those floods and stuff up in Queensland and everywhere else right?
Chances are we're all deeply moved by what's happened, and our sympathies all lie with those affected people right now.
I'm one of those people.
But, despite this, you can never truly understand until it's happened to you.

Sure, I'm sorry that the floods have all happened to those around the country.
I wish I could help in some way, and yeah, you've all heard all that before.
But I maintain that no matter what, in just about any situation, unless it's happening right at your doorstep, you'll always disassociate yourself in some way or another.

I know there's poverty around the world.
I know that Australia has been hit hard by disasters.
I know that there's a large chance it's not going to go away for ages.
I know it's been happening for years.
However, I also know that because I live so far away from it, I'm under the impression I can't do a thing to stop it.

That's why disassociation sucks.
It's taken me staying at my friends house, and seeing their house and street get covered in water, for me to even somehow comprehend what those already affected have been going through.
All the fear,
the worry,
the loss,
the energy.
All that, and I haven't been able to even consider understanding it until it's happened in some way directly to me.

Sure, it's not my personal property that got damaged.
It's not my house.
But I helped clear a couple of houses of water, including the houses of people I've never even seen before in my life.
It just opens your eyes to be a part of it.
Which is why I believe disassociation sucks... because there are people out there, like me, who are capable of helping those in need, but won't until it happens to them.
And it's just not going to happen to a lot of people...
